A GEOMETRIC PROPERTY IN DIALOGUE WITH NATURE

"La Perle du Lac", designed by Axe&D, is a majestic architectural creation of timber, glass and concrete, inspired by Tadao Ando: an exceptional crown set in the magnificent setting of the shores of Lake Annecy, with its protected, verdant bay at the foot of the Aravis mountains.

Tadao Ando is a famous, award-winning* Japanese architect with an international reputation, who has always worked with concrete and light. His style is defined as geometric and extremely simple. "By coming up against geometric lines, nature highlights its own presence. And thanks to the dialogue born of the encounter between these two elements, the environment, which supports daily life, finds its place," explains this brilliant designer-initiator. It's a philosophy widely shared by Groupe Dunoyer, and one that influenced this large-scale project on the lakeshore. Groupe Dunoyer, which has been based in the region for over 65 years, designed and built the first timber and glass houses using the Axe&D construction principle. Designer Robert Dunoyer managed the genesis and construction of La Perle du Lac: "We have such specific and attractive environments, between the lakes and the mountains, with often sloping terrain! From the outset, this has enabled us to establish an architectural style and construction system that is our own, and naturally instinctive with timber and light." The family-run company has grown by adopting a craftsman's approach, with a strong emphasis on service and quality at every stage of production, from design to production. Everything is managed in-house, with clear, precise rules.
"We don't compromise on quality, nor on the exceptional aspect of each living space. Each Axe&D project is therefore unique, but obeys a common rule: to offer beauty, comfort and well-being.” Several phrases have become key slogans: Tradition and modernity. Elegance and luminosity. Art and customization... Perfect harmony between timber and glass. True to these principles, La Perle du Lac is as spectacular as it is unique: an architectural creation of timber, glass and concrete, with top-quality fittings and finishes, and fully furnished, equipped and decorated. A bright living area with lounge and dining room, opening onto the terrace; fitted kitchen with pantry and bar. Terrace with pergola, summer kitchen and dining area. An outdoor infinity pool. Not to mention the indoor wellness area with swimming pool, steam room, fitness room and home cinema. And two separate apartments!
Then add an elevator, escalator, and a helicopter landing and take-off area*! In other words, we can only bow our heads in respect at the highly innovative and wildly seductive uniqueness of the outcome! A unique pearl with a royal title. A breathtaking achievement that crowns an unforgettable landscape.

*Tadao Ando was awarded the Pritzker Architecture Prize in 1995 and the Kyoto Prize in 2002.
